For depositions, hearings and meetings
Every voice on its own track.
Software Mixer records each microphone to its own file, plus the full mix, and tells you the moment a mic stops sending audio. Made for court reporters and the firms they work with.

What every session gives you
A clean file for each speaker, the whole room in one file, and a warning before a problem costs you testimony.
One file per speaker
Each channel saves its own WAV, FLAC or MP3, named the way you named the channel. Moving a fader changes what you hear, never what's saved.
The full mix, too
Alongside the separate tracks you get one combined file of the whole room, ready to play back, send or attach to the transcript.
Warns you when a mic drops out
If a mic is unplugged or stops sending audio, its channel turns red and every other channel keeps recording. All files stay the same length, so they still line up.
Works with the mics you have
USB mics, headsets and audio interfaces with several mic inputs. Each device can run at its own sample rate, and every track stays in sync for hours.
Crosstalk stays clear.
A single room mic turns an objection over an answer into noise. With each speaker on their own track, you can play the witness alone and hear exactly what was said under the objection.
- Q. Were you present at the meeting on
- June 4th?
- A. I was. I arrived just after it started.
- Q. Who else was in the room?
- A. Mr. Harmon, his assistant, and --
- MR. OKAFOR: Objection. Form.
- THE WITNESS: -- two people from
- accounting.
- Q. Do you recall their names?
- A. Not both of them, no.
Three steps to a recording
- Step 1
Pick a mic for each channel
Choose the device and, on an interface with several inputs, which input. Press TEST to check the level before anyone speaks.
- Step 2
Name channels and pick a folder
Call a channel Witness or Defense Counsel and that becomes its file name. Save the setup to reuse it in the same room tomorrow.
- Step 3
Press START
Watch the meters while you work. Press STOP at the end and every file is saved and closed in the folder you chose.
Your recordings never leave your computer.
Software Mixer doesn't need an account or an internet connection to record. Nothing is uploaded. The files go to the folder you choose and stay there.

Questions
Are my recordings uploaded anywhere?
No. Files are saved to the folder you choose on your own computer, and Software Mixer never sends them anywhere.
What do I need to run it?
A 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC and one or more microphones. USB mics and audio interfaces both work.
What if a mic gets unplugged mid-session?
Its channel shows NO AUDIO in red. The other channels keep recording, and every file stays the same length so the tracks still line up.
Can Zoom or Teams use the mix as a microphone?
Yes, with a virtual audio cable such as VB-Cable installed. You don't need one to record or to listen on speakers.
Can I try it before subscribing?
Yes. The free version mixes two mics and records one of them plus the full mix, with no time limit. Pro records every channel on the same install.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime from Manage subscription. Pro keeps working until the end of the month you paid for, then the app switches back to the free version. Recordings you've already made are never affected.
